(L_R) Chaim Halperin (from Israel) and Aurohom Schtroks (from London) take part in a age old custom that on Yom Kippur Eve Jews take live chickens, a Rooster for a man a Hen for a women, and offer it to God in a special ceremony called “Kapparot”. After the offering the chickens are given to a ritual slaughter whereupon they are prepared, under strict Kosher supervision, to be given as Kosher meals to the poor and needy. The ceremony was held at Chabad-Lubavitch in Boyton Beach. Photo by Michael Francis McElroy.
